Essays should build us up, break us down. and leave us transformed.
We like short; we like long: between 500 and 10,000 words = yes.
Language should be crafted for general, public consumption.
We acquire first serial electronic and anthology reprint rights.
Response time ranges from a few days to a month.
Essays should be on topics of ecology,
investigation, or poetics.
Essays on poetics should be appreciations of poets or investigations of craft.
Essays on other subjects may be considered; query firstname.lastname@example.org first.
We may ask you to revise and resubmit; if you’re not open to this, say.
We’ll reject just about everything; take it as invitation to persist.
